Gay Clubbing Scene in Amsterdam
The Gay Amsterdam clubbing scene is wide and varied. Recently, many of the large clubs have had to close due to the death of one of the largest club owners in Amsterdam and their future remains uncertain. Club Cockring, one of the most famous clubs in Europe was also closed in a polce raid. We will keep you updated as to if and when they will reopen.
Despite this, the Amsterdam gay club scene is one of the most vibrant in Europe with new parties appearing on the scene every month. This is helped by the fact that Amsterdam has some great clubbing venues. These venues are rented out to various promoters so there can be a different theme party every day of the week, in the same club. It never gets boring!
One of the most famous names on the Circuit is "Rapido", which hosts monthly parties, Club Rapido on the last Sunday of the month. These tend to be long parties, going from 3am in the afternoon until late at night. Fresh, at Club Roses on Saturday nights at the end of the month is also a busy event.
Bears and fetish enthusiasts are also well catered for. As well as the weekly theme nights in cruising bars such as The Eagle, Fetish Shop Rob and Sex Club, Dirty Dicks, there are huge Bear Cirucit Parties such as Furball and the monthly "Bear Necessity" at the wonderful Odeon Club.
Weekly clubs such as newcomer Church, with its different theme nights covering everything from Denim to Trainer fetishes is also very popular from Tuesdays to Sundays. Club Roque and Club Stereo cater for the weekend clubbers and parties such as Spellbound and Multisexi attract the young, the alternative and the trendy looking for the latest house music in alternative locations.
Parties come and go and its best to check the local weekly magazines and flyers in the bars before venturing out to a club. Also, remnember than on the major holidays and festivals, club superbrands such as Lovechild, Matinee, The White Party, The Black Party and Supermarche will also make an appearance. One thing is for sure. You will not be short of options. The Gay Amsterdam Club scene is alive and well.
