Exercise caution when cruising outdoors!
Cruising takes place at Nieuwe Meer (Anton Schleperspad) day and night and Vondelpark (near Leidseplein) day and night, at the rose garden in the center of the park. There are no police checks in these areas so be careful about robbery and muggings. During the summer Nieuwe Meer is also a clothing-optional gay recreation area with lots of cruising in the bushes.
Oosterpark (by Tropenmuseum)
This park gets cruisy after sunset as the park gets very dark, popular with local Arab guys. To get there take the tram (line 3,7,9,10 and 14) and bus. Head toward southeast corner of the park.
Oeverlanden / Nieuwe Meer
Perhaps the most popular cruising spot in Amsterdam. Oeverlanden refers to the park area, and Nieuwe Meer is a small lake located just outside the city centre. This recreational area gets crowded in the summer. Clothing-optional sunbathing is allowed, and swimming in the lake is also possible. This is the only place where cruising is officially recognised and tolerated, as indicated on signs. Action takes place day and night (busier on sunny days), though cruising after dark is at your own risk.
In summer Westerpark is popular with Turks and Moroccans. During the day cruise between the Westerpark and the Sloterdijk along the railroad tracks behind the Begraafplaats St. Barbara cemetery.
Follow Haarlemmerweg west of Centraal Station or take tram or bus. At the east corner of the park take the Overbrakerpad north through the tunnel under the train tracks then turn left and follow the path along the tracks. Busy late at night.
